On June 8, 2013, the Pittsburgh chapter of the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) and the Gay and Lesbian Community Center (GLCC) are thrilled to be co-hosting the annual Pittsburgh Youth Pride Prom for the second year in a row.
Many LGBTQ-identifying and ally youth do not attend their own school social events, such as proms and other dances, because of harassment, bullying, and non-friendly faculty and administrations. The Pittsburgh Youth Pride Prom provides a safe and alcohol/drug-free social event for young adults to experience the enjoyment of a traditional high school prom where they feel comfortable in a fun environment they helped create!
The event will be catered, with food selections to meet all dietary restrictions. There will be a DJ, great decorations, a surprise performance the youth will be sure to love, and prom photos they can take with them when they leave!
Location: The East Liberty Presbyterian Church
Date: Saturday, June 8, 2013
Time: 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.
Theme: Masquerade!
